The yearly population growth rate is continuously decreasing by a significant margin over the year. highest ever population growth was registered in year 1974 and 1982 at 2.36%.
Since 1982 its on declining trend and still a long way to go before we can ever think of population decline. according to UN projection reports Indian population growth will stall in 2060.
