IPL 2025 Overview: Start Date, Schedule, Venues, and More
The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to kick off on March 22, 2025, in Kolkata. The opening match will feature Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). This will be the 18th edition of the tournament.
This year’s IPL will feature ten teams competing across 74 matches, running from March 22 to May 25, 2025. the Final match will be played on May 25, 2025 at Eden Garden, Kolkata

IPL 2025 format and teams
- Each team is placed in one of the two groups.
- Within their group:
- They play each team twice (home and away).
- Against the opposite group:
- They play one team twice (based on pre-determined seeding).
- They play the remaining four teams once.
- This ensures that each team plays 14 league matches before the playoffs.
